Kasumi is a tri-sector leader and lead strategist working at the intersection of urban development, social inclusion, and place-based innovation. As the founder of INCANDI, she designs and implements immersive urban labs and stakeholder engagement processes that translate complex social and environmental challenges into actionable, field-based insights.

With over 16+ years of experience across the public sector (UN, World Bank, Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs), private sector (ESG and management consulting), and social enterprises, Kasumi bridges high-level strategy and on-the-ground realities. Her work focuses on areas such as climate and urban resilience, human rights due diligence (HRDD), and inclusive urban development, and gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) working with governments, development partners, and cross-sector stakeholders to bridge field-based insights and investment frameworks, including those related to public-private partnerships (PPPs).

At INCANDI, she orchestrates collaborative platforms that bring together communities, youth, and institutions to prototype inclusive and context-sensitive approaches to city-making. Her approach integrates arts, experiential learning, and stakeholder co-creation, grounded in place-based and participatory approaches, as tools for generating new forms of insight, agency, and implementation pathways. She also contributes to policy dialogues, program design, and cross-sector partnership building.

Kasumi was selected as a 2019 Obama Foundation Asia-Pacific Leader and has contributed to regional dialogues on inclusive leadership and social cohesion. She is also the author of a serialized feature in Courrier Japon, highlighting inclusive leadership across Asia.

She holds an MSc from University College London (UCL) Bartlett School, completed executive training at Harvard Kennedy School, and Completed the Halal Executive Program, University of Technology Malaysia (JAKIM-endorsed program) – First non-Malaysian graduate.

Her work is grounded in the idea of “Unlearning”—reframing assumptions to unlock the latent potential of individuals, institutions, and cities. She envisions a future where creativity and cross-sector collaboration build an “Inclusive OS” for more resilient and cohesive societies.

世界銀行、国連、外務省、外資系コンサルティング、社会的企業など、官・民・ソーシャルの三領域を横断し、アジア・中東・アフリカにおける都市・コミュニティの現場で、国際開発、制度設計、ESG戦略の策定・実装に従事。これまで30カ国以上でフィールド経験を重ね、多様な社会の構造と実践を多角的に捉えてきた。

現在はマレーシアを拠点に、都市を実践のフィールドとして捉える共創型プラットフォーム「INCANDI」を創設・リード。フィールドベースのラボ設計やステークホルダーとの協働プロセスを通じて、社会・環境課題を具体的な社会実装のモデルへと昇華させ、都市やコミュニティにおける包摂的な変化を生み出す取り組みを行っている。政策対話やプログラム設計、分野横断のパートナーシップ形成にも貢献。

特に、気候変動や災害に強い都市づくり、人権デューデリジェンス（HRDD）、ジェンダー平等・社会的包摂（GESI）を都市や制度設計に統合することに注力し、政府、開発機関、企業、地域コミュニティと協働しながら、多様な主体による意思決定と実装をつなぐ役割を担う。

2019年、オバマ財団アジア太平洋リーダーに選出。ロンドン大学UCLバートレット校修士（都市開発）、ハーバード・ケネディスクールExecutive Education修了。マレーシア工科大学 Halal Executiveコース修了（JAKIM認定プログラム）。
